Energy monitoring is motivated by a number of needs, it is a tool that must serve a purpose. Connecting to a system should therefore never be more complicated than living without it. Of course, Mestro’s products should create higher value for our customers. For the property owner who wants to take the step towards a more energy efficient future, perhaps the most important step is the first. Do you want to reduce your costs? Do you want to be in line with regulatory requirements? Or if, like us, you are convinced that you want to be at the forefront, getting there should be easy.
Therefore, from the very beginning, we have invested a lot of time in simplifying our bridges to other systems. We do not want you as a customer (or you who are considering Mestro) to see any obstacles in your work with our products. For a property owner, everything is often based on a huge amount of data, the information that underpins energy management. We want to mobilize this data without you having to undertake a total reconstruction of your digital infrastructure. And we have succeeded.
Connecting systems – the easy way
API or Application Programming Interface is the tool that allows different databases to communicate with each other, that data can be transferred from one place to another. In other words, an API is an interface definition that allows programs to interact with each other and by using Mestro’s almost acrobatic API, the customer can find solutions based on existing software without having to understand and change the source code of the existing programs. This is a process so sophisticated that it does not need to be described with a word other than simple. And simple it must be.
Mestro Portal is an advanced platform and if the API is the way that allows the programs to interact, the integration is instead when several different programs actually work together to solve a task. The API is the bridge, the integration occurs when programs from each side meet in the middle to discuss how they best solve one of the most important problems of our time: energy efficiency.
And Mestro opens the door for many. Yes, over the past 18 years we have built over 500 integrations. Existing customers of Mestro know that it does not have to be much more complicated than connecting the already existing hardware. This is because we do not close any doors for new industry colleagues who can and want to send data. Because we must not only make the customer’s journey luxurious, it must be smooth.
Flexibility allows data to be shared
We have created a platform with the intention that it should be able to “talk” to everyone. It should be flexible for a property owner who has properties in Finland connected through Fingrid, Turku Energia, Vantaan Energia, etc. The property owner who has different sub-metering systems depending on the region in the form of PiiGab, Elvaco, Ecoguard, Kabona, etc. The property owner who must report actual or standardized carbon dioxide emissions. The property owner who wants to be able to do tenant settlement or get costs directly in the platform through Vitec Hyra, Unit4, Palette/Rillion etc. Everyone can just connect. Because otherwise it would be complicated, right?
Regulatory requirements are being formalized, the EU Taxonomy sets higher standards and the requirements for green finance are becoming clearer. Through our API, the customer always has access to their ESG data, without ordering and waiting time. Otherwise, the customer’s sustainability work would be inflexible, and that should never be the case.
If you are facing a transition where energy will lead your work towards the future, know that you are facing an extensive, challenging and absolutely wonderful journey. But with Mestro, data transfer, connection and collection will never be an obstacle on your journey. Because it would not be worthy of the weight of the project.
The highway to sustainability must be well paved. Because once the decision is made, the energy monitoring must match the ambition. Our eminent list of integrations will never stop growing and why should it? After all, when it comes to simplifying the transition of the real estate world, the same logic applies as at all nice events – the more the merrier.
