Here’s how we have done the actual calculation behind it.

Our calculation is based on the assumption that your company foremost handles energy management and reporting manually today. We also assume that when your portfolio of properties grows, you also have more data streams connected to them.

This calculation is an estimate of how much time it would take to manually import, analyze, visualize and report energy data – a workflow that can be totally automated with Mestro Portal in your hands. 

Here are some of the variables that is part of our calculation 

• Data collection – Manual import of electricity, district heating, district cooling and water from both IoT devices and manual reading in the property. Mapping of data filters, structures withheld in probably Excel and project coordination between colleagues.
• Analysis – Benchmarking and comparison of data. Troubleshooting, key performace calculation, financial reports and budget. Feedback loop on quality of the data.
• Visualization and Reporting – Monthly report to management team, sustainability reporting and handover to end-of-year report. Calculation of costs and actual climate impact. Reporting for waste and transports. Quarterly audits and feedback loops, including projects for decreasing the energy usage.

So how do we transform this into actual money? As you can guess, this is an estimate based on the hourly tax of €50 for the manual labour of an internal or external energy consultant.
